PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which density differences caused between an image area for the first rotation of a photoreceptive means and image areas for the second and successive rotations of the photoreceptive means can be eliminated. SOLUTION: When a printing operation is started, control is exerted, as shown in the figure, such that the DC voltage of the power supply means is set to be higher than a predetermined voltage during a period the photoreceptive means makes the first rotation after the start of the application of a voltage to an electrifying means from a power source supply means, and then it is switched to the set predetermined voltage after the photoreceptive means makes the second and successive rotations.
