PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring device for reducing the burden of operators by automating monitoring in wide range and efficiently obtaining accurate information of a surveying object. SOLUTION: A laser device 2 emitting pulse laser light, an ICCD camera 3 photographing the reflection light of pulse laser light reflected by an object existing in a specific monitoring range and a controller 5 for controlling opening/closing timing of a shutter of the ICCD camera 3 in accordance with the set predetermined monitoring range are provided. The controller 5 sets the predetermined monitoring range to a wide monitoring range during monitoring. When an object is monitored during monitoring, the predetermined monitoring range is set to a narrow monitoring range and the narrow monitoring range is moved to longitudinal direction.
