PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defrosting heater capable of preventing the corrosion and breaking of a heater wire by preventing the intrusion of the outside air into a glass tube from a clearance between a plug and a lead wire. SOLUTION: This defrosting heater 20 for melting the frost attached or accumulated on a cooler, comprises the glass tube 23, the heater wire 21 composed of a metallic resistor mounted inside of the glass tube 23, the plugs 22 having a lead wire insertion hole for covering both end opening parts of the glass tube 23, and the lead wire 24 connected with an end part of the heater wire 21 through the lead wire insertion hole 22a. Projections 22b, 22c are formed on an inner wall face of the lead wire insertion hole 22a of the plug 22 to make a diameter of the lead wire insertion hole 22a be smaller than an outer diameter of the lead wire 24, to seal the clearance between the plug 22 and the lead wire 24 in inserting the lead wire 24, whereby the intrusion of the outside air from the clearance between the lead wire and the plug can be prevented, and the corrosion and the breaking of the heater wire can be prevented.
