PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a ball of a ball valve at a reduced manufacturing unit price, even though an expensive anticorrosive metal material such as a nickel alloy, etc. is employed for the manufacture in a small quantity. SOLUTION: Hemispherical bodies are formed of a discoidal anticorrosive sheet material 1 by using dies. Two hemispherical bodies 3, 3 are butt-welded into a ball body 4. Sleeve-insertion holes 10 are made in the ball body 4 in order to insert a sleeve 5 for forming a through flow-path. An opening 11 for insertion of a recessed locking member 6 is made in the ball body 4. A projection part for locking a spindle for rotatively driving the ball is to be locked to the recessed locking member 6. The sleeve 5 for forming a through flow-path and the recessed locking member 6 are inserted respectively into the sleeve-insertion holes 10, 10 and the locking-member insertion opening 11, and they are welded into the ball body 4.
