TRACK WITH OFFSET DRIVE LUGS AND DRIVE WHEEL THEREFORE

A drive track (10) for a tracked vehicle has drive lugs (50, 52) on the interior side that are made in two rows (16, 48), one row adjacent each of the lateral sides of the track (10) and spaced apart on opposite sides of the longitudinal center plane (36) of the track. The first row (46) has lugs (50) spaced a selected distance (55A) on center, and the second row of lugs (48) are spaced the same distance (55A) but offset one-half of the distance (55B) between the lugs (50) in the first row (16) along the length of the track (10). A drive sprocket or wheel (26) has two sections (27, 28), each with drive bars (32, 40) that are annularly offset from the other the same amount as the track lugs (50, 52) so that the rows (46,48) of track lugs (50,52) are driven by the drive wheel sections (27, 28).
