A boxing game system (10) comprising a game machine (12) and a globe type input unit (34), wherein a game player grasps the body (40) of the input unit and swings the input unit with an actual boxing-like motion. A piezoelectric buzzer incorporated in the body detects an acceleration when the input unit is swung. Acceleration information is sent by an infrared ray which is received at an infrared receiving/demodulating section (32) and demodulated. A game processor receives the demodulated acceleration information and calculates the punching power when the input unit is swung. A damage value is determined by the punching power and the physical stamina value of a boxer being displayed on a monitor (20) is calculated from the damage value. The boxer is downed when the physical stamina is exhausted. |
