<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal ring with excellent quality for reducing wear of members, realizing a good leaking characteristic, and maintaining a stable seal performance for a long period. <P>SOLUTION: This seal ring 1 comprises a first seal part 4 sealing a side wall on a non-sealing object fluid side of an annular groove formed on a shaft, and a second seal part 3 sealing a shaft hole inner periphery of a housing. Linear contact parts 41(a, b, c) linearly contacting the side wall are installed on the entire periphery of the first seal part 4. A diameter of the linear contact part 41a in a projection 21 of a separating part 2 of the ring is different from the diameter of a linear contact part 41b in an indentation 24, so as to form a leak path therebetween. A diameter-changing portion of the linear contact part 41 extends almost on the entire periphery of a ring body, and adopts such a constitution that the diameter of the linear contact part 41 is gradually changed (reduced) from an end edge of the projection 21 to an end edge of the indentation 24. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
