<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus to be cooled by sufficiently ventilating both a main body side object A and a unit side ventilating subject B without an addition of a fan, in an image forming apparatus 100 provided with: a device main body 10 forming an image on a sheet S, provided with a fan 30 to ventilate the main body side ventilating object A; and a post processing unit 20 attached to the device main body 10 and carrying out post processing of the sheet after the image is formed. <P>SOLUTION: In a device main body 10, a main body side ventilating part 41 connected to be in parallel to the main body side ventilating subject A to the fan 30 is provided. In the post processing unit 20, the unit side ventilating part 43 connected to the main body side ventilating part 41 when the post processing unit is attached is provided.
