PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling method for stably manufacturing a thick plate product which has a good flatness, and also causes no wave nor bend when cut into a predetermined size, even after a thick plate to be straightened is cooled down to ambient temperature, when a warm thick plate or a control cooled thick plate, which has a temperature distribution in its width direction, is straightened.
SOLUTION: The method has a structure to support working rolls with divided back-up rolls axially dividing at least either an upper or lower roll assembly into at least three divisions. Temperature of a warm thick plate width direction is detected with a plate rolling mill provided with a load detection device, a roll-down structure, and a roll-down position detection device, divided independently for each dividing back-up roll. By averaging the obtained temperature signals, deviation between temperature of the warm thick plate just under a cylinder length center of a central divided back-up roll and those of the respective divided width back-up rolls is found. Based on the obtained temperature deviation, shapes just under the respective dividing back-up rolls of the plate rolling mill are controlled so that an amount of thermal expansion does not have an influence on a plate shape of a straightened thick plate after cooled.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
|
