ROUTE GUIDANCE SYSTEM, METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route guidance system and the like which improve safety by reducing a number of movements of a driver's line of sight and enable the driver to reliably recognize a travel route to follow without a sense of incongruity by an image of a virtual guidance vehicle. SOLUTION: The route guidance system is a route guidance system for guiding a vehicle to a set destination and includes both a guidance vehicle display means for superposing and displaying the virtual guidance vehicle 46, which travels ahead of the vehicle while keeping a prescribed distance between the two vehicles according to the vehicle's speed, on an actual landscape being visually recognized by the vehicle's driver and a display altering means for altering a display location of the virtual guidance vehicle in such a way as to lengthen the distance between the two vehicles when the vehicle's speed is raised.
