PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor for a disk unit capable of improving the efficiency of an assembly process of a dynamic pressure bearing device and further cost reduction. SOLUTION: The dynamic pressure bearing device 21 comprises a housing 27; a thrust member 10 and a bearing sleeve 8 fixed on the housing 27; a shaft member 2; and a sealing member 9 as components. The sealing member 9 is fixed on the upper end inner periphery of the housing 27 by means of laser beam welding, and an inner periphery 9a faces the outer periphery 2a1 of a shaft 2a via a prescribed sealed space.
