PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display control apparatus, in which electronic program guide information can be viewed more clearly, when displaying the electronic program guide information superimposed on a background program, in such a way that the image of the program is seen through the electronic program guide information. SOLUTION: Screens 101, 102 are formed translucent with respect to an original program image and displayed superimposed. On the screen 101 for displaying a program list for selecting a program, the electronic program guide information and the image of the program are superimposed at a ratio of 4:1. Further, on the screen 101, as a title of a program of a channel 155, the characters "Charlotte Gains" in "Charlotte Gainsbourg Innocence Confession" and symbols 103 "..." are displayed. On the screen 102, the superimposition ratio of the electronic program guide information and the image of the program is 1:4 so as to attain easier to see image of the program.
