<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type liquid crystal display element having satisfactory display quality by preventing irregular reflection on the border between an image display region and its peripheral region. <P>SOLUTION: The reflection type liquid crystal display element is so constituted that a reflection substrate 100 wherein a plurality of combinations each having a transistor and reflection electrodes 105 and 104 are formed on a semiconductor substrate in a matrix shape and a transparent substrate on which a counter electrode is formed are disposed at a predetermined gap so that the reflection electrode 105 and the counter electrode are opposed to each other and a liquid crystal is encapsulated between the gap, wherein the reflection electrodes 104 disposed in one round of the outer periphery of the image display region 103 constituted of the plurality of reflection electrodes 105 are so constituted as to have the same potential as a peripheral region 101 adjacently surrounding the reflection electrodes 104 at a prescribed interval. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
