PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic power steering device capable of changing steering assisting force according to a driving state such as car speed and obtaining favorable steering feeling at low cost with a simple structure. SOLUTION: A control valve 30 controls hydraulic pressure of pressure oil supplied to a hydraulic actuator 20 for generating the steering assisting force according to a resilient relative rotation amount of input/output shafts 2, 3. A regulating means 50 for regulating relative rotation of the input/output shafts 2, 3 according to the driving state of a vehicle adjusts the hydraulic pressure for pressing one of the input/output shafts 2, 3 through a spherical plunger 52 inserted to a guide hole 51 formed at the other of the input/output shafts 2, 3 according to the driving state of the vehicle with a hydraulic pressure adjustment mechanism 60. The plunger 52 is guided to the directions closer to/away from one of the input/output shafts 2, 3 by the inner circumference of the guide hole 51 at the relative rotation of the input/output shafts 2, 3 through a friction reducing member 53 having an oil sealing function.
