PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that, because a catalyst carrier or an adsorbent material is hydrophilic, adsorbed malodor components are substituted with water and eliminated under a high humidity environment to produce malodor. SOLUTION: The deodorant having a ratio of silica to alumina of 100 or less and carrying, at least, manganese oxide on oxide, which is composed of metal ions as counter ions, substitutes activated hydrogen with metal ions, so suppress the adsorption of water and carry the large amount of metal ions as the counter ions, thereby improving the adsorption of the metal or the metal ions relative to the malodorous components and the activity of the catalyst.
