PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coverlet which fits over a round or oblong Kotatsu (Japanese foot warmer with a quilt over it). SOLUTION: A coverlet for a round or oblong Kotatsu, which is provided with an outer material, cotton pad and lining cloth, has a center part which is equal to the ceiling of the Kotatsu in shape and size, a first strip part located outside the outer circumference of the center part and a second strip part or a wrap skirt part located outside the first strip part, and the width of the first strip part is 5-50 cm, the width of the second strip part or the wrap skirt part is 10-70 cm, and the total width of the first strip part, the second strip part and the wrap skirt part is 40-120 cm, the length of the outer circumference of the first strip part is 105-150% of the length of the inner circumference of the first strip part, the length of the outer circumference of the second strip part is 105-150% of the length of the inner circumference of the second strip part, the wrap skirt part is cut lengthwise, and the cut parts partially overlap each other.
