PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stilbene derivative that bears a prescribed substituent on a prescribed position in the molecule and has excellent compatibility to the binding resin and maintains a prescribed sensitivity behavior. SOLUTION: The stilbene derivative is represented by general formula (1). In the method for producing the stilbene derivative, a formylated triphenylamine derivative is allowed to react with a diphosphoric ester derivative in the presence of a catalyst.
