The cryocontainer has a storage container (1) with a useful space (4) enclosed by outer and inner walls (2,3), the intermediate space between the latter evacuated to obtain a high vacuum. The cover for the storage container is provided by a double-walled insulation cap (10) evacuated to a high vacuum with its upper opening closed by inner and outer plates (13,13') sealed to the inner and outer sleeves (11,12) of the cap which are hermetically sealed together at the bottom end of the cap, for provision of an insulation space (14). The outer wall of the storage container is widened out at the bottom end via a stepped shoulder (7) and enclosed by a foot part (8) with an upper edge (9) clipped over this shoulder.
