PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bearing unit capable of mounting a rotational speed detection device to a cover member, with excellent position accuracy. SOLUTION: An external screw member 8a is provided for the cover member 7, by forming the cover member 7 by mold members 11, 12, in the state where one end part of the external screw member 8a is positioned by a first positioning recessed part 11a provided for the mold member 11, and the other end of the external screw member 8a is positioned by a second positioning recessed part 12a provided for the mold member 12. Due to this structure, position accuracy between the external screw member 8a and the cover member 7 is stabilized. In the state where a housing 62 is inserted into an insertion hole 71 and the external screw member 8a is penetrated into a through-hole 63a, an internal screw member 9a is connected to the external screw member 8a, and the rotational speed detection device 6 is fixed to the cover member 7.
