PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for repelling weed on the road shoulders in which construction can early be completed by one water-spraying operation and construction to the slant face is readily carried out and original state can simply be recovered by crushing soil in a construction site. SOLUTION: Mixed powder obtained by mixing a water-absorbing material obtained by drying and crushing soil produced in a water purification plant with calcium sulfate 1/2 hydrate is laid on construction ground of road shoulders, etc. and water is sprayed thereon. Thereby, curing reaction of calcium sulfate 1/2 hydrate is started while absorbing water content. In this case, curing reaction of calcium sulfate 1/2 hydrate is continued by supplying water to the calcium sulfate 1/2 hydrate and a water-permeable coated layer for suppressing overgrowth of weed is formed on the surface of the construction ground. Since the mixed powder does not contain gravel, etc. and calcium sulfate 1/2 hydrate disperses into soil as a calcium component, the compound can be returned to the soil by crushing the compound in situ.
