METHOD FOR PREPARING LANGUAGE INDEPENDENT FILE AND LANGUAGE SPECIFIC RESOURCE FILE FOR COMPONENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To much more efficiently prepare/use an application or an operating system. SOLUTION: This bifurcated structure is configured to easily distribute and update an application, while the reduced set of files provides for more efficient file management. A resource manifest can be specified during the compile stage to identify elements that are language specific and elements that remain language independent. Additional software can be used after compilation for compacting a plurality localizable elements into the form of a single file. Such compacting software can receive inputs specifying identification of the language specific resource group to be compacted in the form of the larger file group and their larger file groups. The file format to include the plurality of language specific resources or to easily extract and access the individual language specific resources by the relevant language independent codes is used.
