PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heddle shaft for a weaving machine, capable of being rapidly and simply mounted on the weaving machine and dismounted therefrom and having high load-bearing properties. SOLUTION: This heddle shaft 1 for the weaving machine is equipped with a shaft rod 2, a side support body 5, and a coupling member 8, wherein the shaft rod 2 is equipped with a heddle supporting device 6, and the shaft rod 2 has a hollow chamber 9 which opens to ends of the bar and is surrounded with walls 11, 12, 13, 14 and a fastening opening 19 which is formed on one of the walls, further, the side support body 5 is coupled with one of the ends of the shaft rod 2 so as to extend in the direction approximately perpendicular to the shaft rod, and the side support body 5 is equipped with a side pin 17 which extends into the inside of the hollow chamber, and furthermore, the coupling member 8 has holding legs 16, 23 which engage with the pin 17 and is held in the hollow chamber, and the coupling member 8 has a fastening protrusion 18 which is positioned in the fastening opening and a means 26 which is arranged so as to locate on the opposite side to the fastening protrusion and is supported on the walls.
