PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester polymerization catalyst for obtaining polyesters which makes the best use of polymerization activities, one of advantages of titanium compounds and suppresses the problem of discoloration caused by thermal deterioration, one of the defects of titanium compounds. SOLUTION: A polymerization catalyst (A) prepared from a titanium compound, sulfonic acids, an organic solvent and, if necessary, a phosphorous compound and/or a complexing agent, and a polymerization catalyst (B) comprising an aluminum compound and a phosphorous compound are separately prepared. These polymerization catalysts are simultaneously or separately used thereby to improve the polymerization activities and the problem of discoloration caused by thermal deterioration.
