PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an index for a double clip which can be suitably utilized as a double clip generally used, and can simply find a required document even when the document is fixed by the double clip and piled up, and a double clip mounting this on a back plate. SOLUTION: The index 10 for the double clip to be used by being removed to the back plate 22 side of the double clip 20, is composed of providing an index piece part 14 for bending a plate material formed with a width narrower than the back plate 22 of the double clip and displaying a discrimination element such as letters and figures for discriminating an article to be bound, and a hooking piece part 16 for elastically pinching the back plate 22 of the double clip between the index piece part 14.
