PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for managing a digital copyright for a portable storage device.

SOLUTION: The method for managing the digital copyright, using the portable storage device includes the steps of making a device perform authentication together with the portable storage device and share an encryption key, together with the portable storage device as a result of the authentication; requesting a rights object list to the portable storage device; receiving the rights object list stored in the portable storage device; and processing and outputting information of the list.
