<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppressing beat sound of a pinion and a rack by kick back force and to reduce friction of a rack bearing in a rack and pinion type steering device. <P>SOLUTION: In the rack and pinion type steering device 10, the pinion 12 interlocked with a steering wheel 11 is engaged with the rack 14, left and right tie rods 16A, 16B are connected to left and right sides of the rack 14 and knuckle arms 18A, 18B of left and right steering wheels 19A, 19B are connected to the left and right tie rods 16A, 16B. The pinion 12, the rack 14, the tie rods 16A, 16B and the knuckle arms 18A, 18B are arranged such that external force F which the knuckle arms 18A, 18B affect the axial direction of the tie rods 16A, 16B press-contacts the rack 14 with the pinion 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
