摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoelectric conversion element having a superior performance index. SOLUTION: The thermoelectric conversion element includes at least two types of clathrate compounds. It is desirable that a clathrate compound whose electron mobility is 100 to 5,000cm<SP>2</SP>/Vs and a clathrate compound whose electron concentration is 1.0×10<SP>20</SP>to 1.0×10<SP>22</SP>/cm<SP>3</SP>are used as n-type thermoelectric conversion elements. It is desirable that a clathrate compound whose Hall mobility is 100 to 2,000cm<SP>2</SP>/Vs, and a clathrate compound whose Hall concentration is 1.0×10<SP>20</SP>to 1.0×10<SP>22</SP>/cm<SP>3</SP>is used as p-type thermoelectric conversion elements.
