PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive laser level used generally in public. SOLUTION: The laser level arranged on a reference surface is provided with a housing, a laser diode arranged within the housing to emit a laser beam along a path, and a lens arranged in the path to convert the laser beam into a planar beam. The planar beam forms thereby a line on the reference surface. The laser level also provided with an electronic distance measurement circuit arranged in the housing to measure a distance.
