PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal device such as a facsimile machine capable of storing a telephone number such as a one-touch dial number or an abbreviated dial number of an opposite party into a table in advance, and calling without abnormality and without causing a communication error, even if a pause is inserted into the telephone number of the opposite party when the telephone number is registered (or a pause is inserted into the stored telephone number when calling via an IP telephone line). SOLUTION: In abbreviated number table registration processing, if a used line is an IP telephone line (NO in step S12 and NO in step S13) and if the input telephone number of the opposite party has a pause (YES in step S16), the main control unit 1 of the facsimile machine 20 substantially deletes the pause, and registers the telephone number in an abbreviated number table 7a in a RAM 7 together with the used line to store the telephone number.
