<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winding machine capable of winding a wire around a core under optimal winding conditions regardless of variation in the diameter at the winding section of the core or in the thickness or winding width of the wire. <P>SOLUTION: A winding section diameter measuring instrument 21 comprises a light emitting section and a light receiving section. A core 60 is disposed between the light emitting section and the light receiving section, and the core section diameter is measured while rotary driving the core about the central axis by means of a spindle 5. A wire diameter measuring instrument 22 is disposed between a wire feeding section 15 and a wire feeding nozzle 10. A noncontact measuring instrument, e.g. an air micrometer, is normally used as the wire diameter measuring instrument 22. A control section 24 controls the position of the wire feeding nozzle 10 or the rotational angle of the core 60 based on data transmitted from the winding section diameter measuring instrument 21 or the wire diameter measuring instrument 22 when a wire 70 is wound around the winding section of the core 60. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
