TREATING METHOD AND TREATING APPARATUS OF ORGANIC WASTE WATER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste water treating method and a waste water treating apparatus of a batch type which dissolve the problem that solid-liquid separation by conventional sedimentation in a batchwise activated sludge process takes long time and which can efficiently perform waste water treatment.

SOLUTION: In the batchwise waste water treating method using activated sludge, activated sludge to which magnetic powder is added is used and the activated sludge is separated from activated sludge suspension by magnetic power at a post stage or after finish of an aeration process. The waste water treating apparatus has a waste water treating tank where aeration treatment is performed and a magnetic separation means. As for a ratio of the magnetic powder to the activated sludge, preferably, concentration of the magnetic powder is 0.01 to 10 mg/L toward 1 mg/L MLVSS (mixed liquor volatile suspended solid) of the activated sludge. Preferably, the magnetic powder has 0.05 to 2 μm size and 0 to 200 Oe coercive force.
