摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for improving a characteristic in a specified visual angle direction and enhancing response speed, with respect to a vertical alignment type liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device having a liquid crystal layer 50 of a vertical alignment type interposed between a pair of substrates and performing display for each prescribed dot region D1, D2 and D3, a plurality of sub dot regions (island-shaped parts) are formed in one dot region D1 and the plurality of sub dot regions are connected by connecting parts 39 in one dot region D1.
