<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic honeycomb filter with superior anti-thermal shock property, and a production method for the ceramic honeycomb filter with reduced production cost. <P>SOLUTION: The ceramic honeycomb filter removes fine particles contained in exhaust gas by sealing prescribed flow passage end parts of a ceramic honeycomb fired body composed of a material having cordierite as main crystal, and by passing the exhaust gas through porous partition walls partitioning the flow passages. At least a part of the sealing parts is composed of at least ceramic particles and an amorphous oxide matrix formed from a colloidal oxide present among the particles. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
