<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic honeycomb filter with superior anti-thermal shock property, and a production method for the ceramic honeycomb filter with reduced production cost. <P>SOLUTION: The ceramic honeycomb filter removes fine particles contained in exhaust gas by sealing prescribed flow passage end parts of a ceramic honeycomb fired body composed of a material having cordierite as main crystal, and by passing the exhaust gas through porous partition walls partitioning the flow passages.
