<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor for a photoelectric conversion material which has high photoelectric conversion efficiency and superior stability, and to provide a photoelectric element and a solar cell. <P>SOLUTION: The semiconductor for a photoelectric conversion material contains a dye expressed by a general formula (1). In the general formula (1), R<SB>1</SB>to R<SB>9</SB>and R represent hydrogen atoms or substituent groups. R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>, R<SB>2</SB>and R<SB>3</SB>, R<SB>3</SB>and R<SB>4</SB>, and R<SB>9</SB>and R may be bonded to one another to form a cyclic structure, and n is an integer from 0 to 4. R<SB>6</SB>-R<SB>8</SB>may be different from one another. If n≥1, R<SB>6</SB>to R<SB>8</SB>may be bonded to one another to form a cyclic structure. Y represents -O-, -S(O)<SB>m</SB>- or -NR<SB>21</SB>-, and m represents an integer from 0 to 2. Z represents -NR<SB>21</SB>- or -CR<SB>22</SB>R<SB>23</SB>-, and R<SB>21</SB>to R<SB>23</SB>represent hydrogen atoms or substituent groups.
