PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level detection device for a vehicle which maintains the positional relation between an ultrasonic wave sensor and an ultrasonic wave reflection member in high degree of precision, by elaborating the structure of the ultrasonic wave reflection member for detecting ultrasonic wave propagation velocity in a liquid to perform high-precision liquid level detection. SOLUTION: In a guide pipe 5, which is an ultrasonic wave propagation path between the ultrasonic wave sensor 3 and a second reflecting surface 54, the ultrasonic wave propagation path comprises a large-diameter section 51 and a small-diameter section 52, which are placed on the same axis. While a first reflecting surface 53 is formed by a step appearing in the connection section between the large-diameter section 51 and the small-diameter section 52, the ultrasonic wave sensor 3 is fixed directly to the guide pipe. The positional relation between the ultrasonic wave sensor 3 and the first reflection surface 53, is thereby maintained in high precision condition, to provide a fuel liquid level detection device 1 which detects a liquid level 81 with high precision.
