PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a magnetic head slider that stably floats on the surface of a compact, cylinder-type medium in a magnetic recording device, and to achieve high recording density, high-speed data transmission, high reliability, and miniaturization. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording device 50 comprises the cylinder-type medium 3 having a magnetic recording medium surface 3a on an outer periphery arc surface; a medium drive section 31 for rotating and driving the cylinder-type medium 3; a magnetic head slider 1 that floats by an airflow on the magnetic recording medium surface 3a and has a recording reproduction element section; a slider support 2 for supporting the magnetic head slider 1; and a slider actuator 32 for moving the magnetic head slider 1 in the direction of the rotary shaft of the cylinder-type medium 3 along with the slider support 2. The magnetic recording device 50 includes a means for applying a pressing load to the magnetic head slider 1 toward the magnetic recording medium surface 3a; and a means for applying restoring force to the pressing load from a relatively inflow side than the point of application of the pressing load.
