PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording/reproducing device capable of being downsized in a set size while improving the operability of loading a cartridge. SOLUTION: In place of the mechanism of forcibly pulling in a cartridge 7, a lid body 1 is retreated from a device main body 2 when the cartridge 7 is continuously pushed even after the completion of its insertion, the cartridge 7 reaches the inside of a door 4, and the lid body 1 is closed by a pressing force applied always in a lid closing direction to a rotating end part, thereby completing the loading of the cartridge 7.
