PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide provision of a valve control method for a refrigerator carrying out control so as to minimize noises due to driving of a three way valve controlling a refrigerant passage. SOLUTION: The valve control method for the refrigerator uses the three way valve comprising an AC valve for controlling inflow of a refrigerant to an evaporator side of a refrigeration chamber and a freshness preservation chamber. To reduce the noises generated by driving of the three way valve, the three way valve is controlled so as to be driven when a predetermined time has passed after driving of a compressor. As a result, the noises due to driving of the three way valve is lost in the noises generated by driving of the compressor, and the noises of the three way valve reaching a user is reduced.
