PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tower type artificial reef that can efficiently be constructed in a shortened work time by largely reducing the construction works on site (near the pier), particularly the jointing works, for example, welding and bolting at high places with the construction cost saved and provide the method for constructing the same. SOLUTION: A plurality of steel pillars 2 are allowed to stand vertically on the base frame 1 at a required interval and block form members 3 each of which has an inserting part are set to the pillars as the inserting parts are each inserted into the individual pillars 2.
