PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sucking device and a sucking method for deodorization for intensively capturing the released odor and steam and efficiently sucking the odor and the steam into a deodorizing device. SOLUTION: A hood 6 is mounted for intensively capturing the odor and the steam released from just under a composting device 2 in stirring a composted material by the composting device 2, and the odor and the steam released for a specific time after the stirring, and a communication holding main body 7 is further mounted for holding the communication of a hood-side duct in the hood 6 moved with the composting device 2 and a duct 4 extended in the longitudinal direction of a fermentation tank 1, whereby the odor and the steam captured by the hood 6 while moving the composting device 2 can be easily sucked to the duct 4 and the deodorizing device 14 through the communication holding main body 7 by an air blower for ventilation.
