<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate an image, taking into account the visual frequency characteristics of humans. <P>SOLUTION: An image of real spatial domain data is converted into spatial frequency domain data (S308), and the spatial frequency domain data are weighted, according to the human visual frequency characteristics (S309) and then are restored to the real spatial domain data (S310). The statistical dispersion quantity of the real spatial domain data is obtained for each color axis and multiplied by a variable coupling factor obtained from the image (S314), and a coupled value is obtained as a quality evaluation value of the image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
