<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonwoven fabric for hydroponics raising seedling of rice plants for making germination growth equal, enabling uniformly and easily scraping off with a rice transplanter and improved workability at the time of setting the nonwoven fabric on a hydroponics raising seedling device. <P>SOLUTION: The nonwoven fabric for hydroponics raising seedling of rice plants is made of a cellulosic fiber and has a basis weight of 15-50g/m<SP>2</SP>. In the nonwoven fabric, 50-150 opening holes/inch<SP>2</SP>of a diameter of 1.0-2.5 mm exist. The strength in the longitudinal direction of the nonwoven fabric is ≥5.0 Kg/5cm and the strength in the cross direction is ≤1.1 Kg/5cm. The bending resistance of the longitudinal direction and the cross direction is ≥40 mm. At least part of the surface of the fabric is coated with a biodegradable polyvinyl alcohol resin. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
