<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal transmitter and a transmitting method capable of transmitting various signals included in a DVI by multiplexing, for example, to one optical fiber. <P>SOLUTION: A multiple signal formed by superimposing a control data signal and a control clock signal on a video signal is generated and the multiple signal is transmitted via a predetermined transmission path. On the receiving side, the received multiple signal is divided into each signal included in it.
