PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove bubbles contained in liquid by replacing the liquid in a short time when the liquid is circulated between a liquid ejection head and a liquid tank by generating a negative pressure in the liquid ejection head. SOLUTION: When ink is fed from a plurality of ink ejection nozzles 27 formed in the nozzle surface 10 to an ink supply port 11 located substantially in the center of a print head 2 through a conduit 4 for supplying ink from an ink tank 3 storing ink 8 being fed to the print head 2 ejecting ink, thence returned from ink discharge ports 12a and 12b at the opposite end parts of the print head 2 back to the ink tank 3 through an ink circulation conduit 5, and a negative pressure is generated in the print head 2 by driving a liquid feed pump 6 arranged on the ink circulation conduit 5 in order to circulate ink between the print head 2 and the ink tank 3, a substantially identical ink discharge time is set for the ink discharge ports 12a and 12b at the opposite end parts of the print head 2.
