PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of transferring to photographing operation, even in a state with a cap member mounted on the camera. SOLUTION: When a lens barrier 220 is at a position closed to an engaging member 210 as shown in Figure (a), a projection 228 is locked onto a projection 216. Resistant force when the projection 228 clears the projection 216 is set to a degree capable of opening and closing the lens barrier 220 to the engaging member 210 with fingers by an operator of the camera 100. Furthermore, the resistant force is set so as to be opened by being pushed by a lens barrel 120 drawing out the lens barrier 220 of a lens cap 200 engaged with a camera body 110. When the lens barrier 220 is at a position opened with respect to the engaging member 210 as shown in Figure (b), the lens barrier 220 is freely turnable with a shaft 212 as the center, with respect to the engaging member 210.
