PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem caused by a change in volume due to thermal expansion of hydraulic fluid while avoiding increase in size of a shock absorber. SOLUTION: A thermal expansion absorbing device 140 is provided in an individual passage 66. When the temperature of the hydraulic fluid is a first preset value or higher, a solenoid valve 144 is put in the open state during a preset time. Since the hydraulic fluid is permitted to flow into a fluid storing chamber 154 through the individual passage 66, the volume change due to thermal expansion can be absorbed. When the temperature of the hydraulic fluid is equal to or lower than a second preset value smaller than the first present value, the valve is put in the open state during a preset time. Since the hydraulic fluid flows from the fluid storing chamber 154 to the individual passage 66, shortage of hydraulic fluid in the shock absorber can be reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
