PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional imaging means capable of forming a high quality image in a short time. SOLUTION: An apparatus is provided for controlling a medical imaging or manufacturing process using detection of a multiple wave length. This apparatus is an imager having a light source operable so as to generate the light of the different wave lengths, operable so as to detect the light from a subject sample by guiding the light to the subject sample, and having a plurality of first areas having a filter material for cutting off the light including a second wave length while detecting the light including a first wave length, and a plurality of second areas having a filter material for detecting the light including the second wave length, and has the imager for interleaving the first areas and the second areas in a predetermined pattern by making the plurality of first areas and the second area respond to respective pixels of the imager.
