The distance measurement arrangement has a distance sensor (1) that is embedded in a surface area (6) of a sliding surface (8) in which a machine part and/or a workpiece (10) can move. The distance sensor is an inductive measurement sensor. The distance sensor has a coil (9) with a core (4), whereby the core is made of the same material as the surface area surrounding the sensor.
