PROTON-RECOIL DETECTOR AND THE CALIBRATION THEREOF

A method for calibrating a proton-recoil detector system is disclosed. The method includes the steps of: exposing the detector to a neutron-emitting radioactive source; recording the measured sp ectrum resulting from the exposure; comparing the measured spectrum with an ideal spectrum; and adjusting the operation of the detector system to compensate for any difference between the measured and ideal spectra.
