A plurality of rails (13) are laid at the opposite end parts of an electric melting furnace (1), an arbitrary number of electrodes (2, 2A) are secured to two sets of electrode supporting bases (11) on these rails, and the movable shaft (12A) of two sets of actuators (12) is fixed to the electrodes (2, 2A). The electrodes (2, 2A) are provided with electrode connecting conductors (3, 3A) and a terminal plate (3B) of connecting conductors is connected with metal conductors (5, 5A) placed on the upper surface, where an electric insulator (6D) is provided in a required number of metal conductor supporting bases (6, 6A), through flexible connection conductors (4, 4A). The metal conductors (5, 5A) are connected with the power supply cables (7, 7A) of a power supply section (10) and the bottom face of the metal conductor supporting bases (6, 6A) is fixed, at one end thereof, with a free rotation wheel (6B) and, at the other end thereof, with a column (6C) of smaller diameter. Two sets of tubular section (8B) are fixed to one end part of the upper surface of a flat plate (8), the column part (6C) is built in these two sets of tubular section (8B) and then the flat plate (8) is secured onto a securing base (9).
